Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo was officially rewarded with the 2011 European Golden Shoe Award in Madrid, Spain on Friday, the 4th November 2011. Although the Portuguese ace confidently accepted this prestigious award at the presentation held at the Intercontinental Hotel, he stressed that his biggest focus is on team affair as he rejected comparisons with Lionel Messi.
This is the second time Cristiano Ronaldo receive the European Golden Shoe Award, which is formally called Golden Boot, for best European striker of the season 2010-2011. Cristiano Ronaldo’s model girlfriend Irina Shayk was also reported to be one among the hundreds of people who arrived at the ceremony to show their support for Ronaldo.

The football star scored a total of 40 goals in La Liga this season, which is actually impressive because the Spanish League is considered the most competitive league in the world, accompanied by the Premier League. Therefore, Ronaldo’s these 40 strikes have brought him the Golden Boot award for 2011.

Being represented to the top scorer of all European leagues, Cristiano Ronaldo is known as the first soccer player who wins 80 points in the way for the award and is named the eighth player to win it twice. Cristiano also received the Golden Shoe award in 2008 as he played as a Manchester United player, scoring 31 goals in the Premier League.
Cristiano Ronaldo is the second Madridista to win this prestigious award. He got it with 40 strikes, nine more than runner-up Leo Messi.
Being handed the award by Portugal legend Eusebio and Real Madrid honorary president Alfredo Di Stefano, Cristiano Ronaldo said: "I would like to win something bigger at a collective level. I do not think about breaking records, but about Real Madrid. I think our team is more mature and with more trust, and we all have to think the same way to achieve an important goal."

Many people arrived at the ceremony to support for their main man Cristiano Ronaldo, including his model girlfriend Irina Shayk, who was spotted stepping out for a promotional appearance at the XTI Signature Shoe Launch in Madrid, Spain on the same day, November 4 in a fabulous leggy little black dress.
Irina Shayk comes to the ceremony in Madrid with a huge ring on the engagement finger to support her boyfriend. The model’s ring is obviously very expensive as it is comprised a mound of diamonds. The famous couple was reported to be engaged in February this year after the football star proposed his Russian beauty on Valentine's Day.
