Richard Drew is an Associated Press photo-journalist who is best known for his photo “The Falling Man”. However, the photographer also pictured many other powerful images of the catastrophic events in New York on September 11, 2001. Richard Drew had watched dozens of people die through the lens of a Nikon DCS620. “I'm really surprised how fast this building's gone up.” said Richard.
The veteran Associated Press photographer reminds that after two planes crashing into the Twin Towers, the 110-story buildings turned into a pair of giant smokestacks spewing plumes of black soot into the crystal blue sky. Not chosen his fate, Richard started shooting and focusing on the topmost floors. And his falling man picture has become the most iconic images of one among the most catastrophic events in American history.
