The result has been released in Wednesday, January 04, 2012 with the victory of Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney. After strong showing in Iowa, Rich Santorum thanked his wife, Karen Garver Santorum for her support during the election.

Rick Santorum, who was born in 1958 in Winchester, Virginia, is an America lawyer and politician. As a Senator, Santorum was the chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, making him the third-ranking Senate Republican from 2001 to 2007. He is the youngest member of the Republican leadership and the first Pennsylvanian to hold such a prominent position since the 1970s.
Rick met his spouse, Karen Garver Santorum, while trying to recruit her for a summer internship with Kirkpatrick & Lockhart; at the time, she was a law student at the University of Pittsburgh.
Rick and Karen Santorum have seven children including son Gabriel Michael, born with a defect, died within two hours of his birth. Karen Santorum's book, “Letters to Gabriel: The True Story of Gabriel Michael Santorum” is a compilation of letters she wrote daily to her unborn son.

In Tuesday’s Iowa caucuses, social conservative Rick Santorum and former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney are tied for first place among Republican candidates, the first nominating contest of the 2012 presidential election. With nearly all the votes counted, Santorum and Romney are tied at 25 percent while Ron Paul is slightly behind at 21 percent. Newt Gingrich, Rick Perry and Michele Bachmann finished in the fourth, fifth and sixth slots.
