Ethos

Hosted by the two-time Academy Award® nominated actor and activist Woody Harrelson,
ETHOS: A TIME FOR CHANGE lifts the lid on a Pandora’s box of systemic issues that has proven to have a negative impact in every aspect of our lives.

From the environment, our democracy and our personal liberty to conflicts of interest in politics and unregulated corporate power, we cannot change our system until we know how it works.

From director and activist Pete McGrain, ETHOS: A TIME FOR CHANGE sheds light on how we can affect change. With interviews from influential thought-leaders including, author and activist Noam Chomsky (Manufacturing Dissent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media), Chalmers Johnson (Blowback: The Sorrows of Empire), Oscar® winning documentarian Michael Moore and Howard Zinn (A People’s History of the United States) to name a few, ETHOS: A TIME FOR CHANGE will show you how to make meaningful and sustainable change in order to create a world where we can live harmoniously in a clean environment.

Lady GaGa’s 2011 MTV VMA Performance

Lady GaGa’s 2011 MTV VMA Performance

By JENNIFER QUINN

Lady Gaga opens the 2011 MTV VMAs by performing her hit “You and I”. She surprised audiences at the Nokia Theatre as dressing in character as her male alter ego, Jo Calderone and playing piano for the great song. However, people might feel sleepy during her spoken-word part.

Particularly, Queen guitarist Brian May joined the controversial singer on stage.

This year, she seems to invest time on her performance, instead of crazy outfits like meat dress or the egg.

At the 2010 MTV VMAs, Lady Gaga also made something special after emerging from an egg to play a solid version of “Born this Way”.

During the red carpet pre-show, Lady Gaga was announced to be the winner of Best Video with a Message for “Born this Way”. “I'm really proud of the 'Born This Way' video, and for it to be nominated is an absolute honor.” she earlier told MTV News.

Written by Lady Gaga and Jeppe Laursen and released as the album's lead single on February 11, 2011, the “Born this Way” singer has got positive reviews from critics, who praised the anthemic nature of the song.

It debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the 1000th number one single in the charts history. Particularly, the hit is sold over 448,000 digital downloads in the United States, making it the most downloaded song in the first week by a female artist.
